Split Pages In Half

Cut every page into two — the usual fix for a scanned book where one image holds two facing pages.

Use Split Pages In Half (interactive) — JavaScript required for uploads.

How to use this tool

  1. Add your PDF
  2. Choose vertical or horizontal
  3. Run the tool and download

Which direction

Vertical cuts down the middle, giving left and right pages — the normal choice for book spreads. Horizontal splits top and bottom, for pages scanned two to a sheet.

How it works

Runs entirely in your browser — your file is never uploaded. Each half is produced by embedding the original page and shifting it, so text stays selectable rather than being rasterized.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes, completely free and with no account.

Will the page order be right?

Yes. A vertical cut emits the left half first, then the right, matching normal reading order.

What if the scan is skewed?

This makes a straight cut down the centre. A visibly crooked scan is better rescanned or deskewed first.

Runs in your browser

This tool works entirely on this page. Your file is opened by JavaScript here, changed in memory, and handed straight back to you — it is never uploaded. Open your browser's Network tab while you use it and you will see nothing leave your device.

Because there is no server doing the work, there is no signup, no watermark, no file size limit, and no daily cap. Nothing is stored, because nothing is received.
